Night of the Night 2023
Saturday 7 October
On Saturday the 28th of October it's the Night of the Night, a annual celibration of darkness on the day wintertime starts. Just like every year, we are open specially for this occasion.
This year, this celebration coincides with a partial lunar eclipse that begins precisely at 8:00 PM and ends at 12:28 AM. It is rare that an eclipse aligns so perfectly with our opening hours!
However, this eclipse is only in the penumbral shadow, so the moon will not turn blood-red but will only become slightly darker. The partial eclipse is likely to be best observed between 9:35 PM and 10:54 PM.
For more information about the lunar eclipse can be found here.
We anticipate EXTREMELY high attendance, so it is necessary to make a reservation. You can do so here. Without a reservation, we may not be able to admit you because the observatory is likely to be full.
