During regular opening hours the observatory is often busy. On these days, you are always welcome, but with more than 8 people in a group it quickly becomes crowded at our observatory. Therefore, if you want to visit us with a larger group, we recommend making an appointment outside of regular opening hours.
You can make an appointment for a private visit to the observatory outside regular opening hours. This is available for up to 30 people at a fixed price of 120 euros. For larger groups, special arrangements can be made in consultation.
We follow a fairly fixed program, but it can be adjusted according to your wishes. There is a 15-minute arrival period with complimentary coffee and tea, and time to explore our hall and exhibition.
Lecture
In the evening, we offer a 45-minute lecture on an astronomical topic of your choice:
The history of astronomy and our worldview
The search for extraterrestrial life
Discovering planets at the edge of our abilities
Finding your way in the dark (for scouting groups)
The universe in 15 minutes (a shorter presentation for children)
We ensure that the presentation is accessible and easy to follow for all audiences.
Telescope
We will take you to our dome, where, if the weather is clear, you can observe through our telescope. We take the time to show you all the sights, but what you can see varies each evening. In case of poor weather, the telescope will be displayed, and we will explain how it works.
